This JVC DLA-X5500 projector uses E-Shift 4 technology which processes the HD and Ultra High Definition video signal by interpolation.

Important novelty to note lies in the 265 W lamp (which is also found on the JVC DLA-X7500 and JVC DLA-X9500). This new lamp allows the JVC DLA-X5500 to have a brightness of 1800 Lumens and a native contrast of 40,000:1 which can go up to 400,000:1 in dynamic mode.

The JVC DLA-X5500 is compatible with High Dynamic Range 10 (HDR10) technology, which makes it possible to display more intense light peaks and deeper blacks on HDR-encoded content like future Ultra HD Blu- ray.

The JVC DLA-X5500 has a 2x zoom, motorized focus, and motorized lens-shift +/- 80% vertically and +/- 34% horizontally.

The connection reveals 2 HDMI 2.0a inputs with HDCP 2.2 support, 1 12V Trigger output, 1 RS-232 port, 1 3D Sync port, and 1 RJ45 socket.
